Employee Handbooks Dos and Don’ts
Employee Handbooks and policy manuals can sometimes be overlooked after they are written and filed away but play a critical role in bolstering your county’s legal defenses against liability for violations of employment law. This session will address policies every employer should have in place. Recent legal changes that may require updates to your Employee Handbook will also be covered.

Handling Medical Issues and Excuses
This session will begin with a very brief overview of the FMLA and ADA (just the requirements and not the details) and then will shift to giving advice for the most-effective strategy for handing these issues by documenting things, boxing the employee in on the issues, and shortening the time during which we either accommodate or decide that we cannot accommodate the issue.
