WHERE: The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College

WHAT: CCAP’s Comprehensive Behavioral Health Task Force (CBHTF) is pleased to announce this year’s Forensic Conference. The 2022 Forensic Conference “County Approaches to Reentry” is a one-day event that will bring together teams of county leaders to discuss current efforts and opportunities for criminal justice reentry in Pennsylvania.

The Reentry Council Panel will feature representatives from the Office of Attorney General and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency who will discuss the purpose of the Pennsylvania Reentry Council, its work with counties, and its future plans and priorities. This session will be followed by Table Top Exercises where county teams will be given scenarios on issues specific to reentry and will be asked to develop and plan for their county.

The County Reentry Model Panel will include examples of county driven models for developing successful reentry coalitions, including how these groups can be formed, the individuals involved, and other promising practices that can be replicated across the commonwealth. Participants will also hear from representatives with the Office of Advocacy and Reform on HEAL PA including the work of its 14 action teams that are focused on the implementation of the Trauma-Informed PA plan.

In addition to these sessions, participants will have an opportunity to participate in a reentry simulation. Through this simulation, participants will learn how having a criminal record affects individuals and families, identify through critical reflection the influence of personal biases and values of working with diverse individuals and constituents, and to discuss the importance of engaging in practices that advance social and economic justice.

WHO: The conference is open to all counties including county leadership, criminal justice representatives and human services stakeholders. Counties are encouraged to gather and identify teams to participate in this event.
