Why Upgrade?
Our Kentico platform is in need of an upgrade. We are currently running MVC, while the rest of the world may be switching over the.NET Core. In lay terms, we don't want to be behind in the world of technology, so it is time to refresh our platform! This upgrade is necessary to also support the eventual migration from Kentico 13 to Xperience by Kentico.
We are additionally looking to move this entire environment to the cloud. As we work on the details of this effort, we will share more specifics on the plans around the Kentico upgrade.
What can I expect?
We will be looking to include all the capability of our current offering AND MORE. We are working on a 'Kentico features board' which we will share with our customers once we have this finalized. The upgrade should be seamless and is expected to take place starting 4th quarter 2025 (with select sites) and run until completion.
What are next steps?
We are working on scoping the cloud architecture. Once this is completed, the development environment comes next. While this is happening, we will have our 'features board' sent out to you for your viewing pleasure!
Will I see a cost increase or other changes to our invoices?
The goal of moving to the cloud is to shift away from having a centralized data center on site at CCAP. While we look at this shift of consumption based modeling from annual, our goal is to keep your fees as they are and still bill on an annual basis. CCAP will be monitoring consumption and adjust fees accordingly. However, our goal is always to keep costs contained for our customer to not only allow for a predicable price point, but have strength in competitive pricing and value.
