Schedule: 8am-4pm with 30 minute lunch; 2 days per week/flexible

Job Summary:
Deputy Clerks receive, preview, index and verify documents and plans presented for recording in the office and online using current electronic communications to complete the process as established by the Recorder. Overall responsibilities include customer service, data entry, scanning of records for electric access and preservation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work remotely and in the courthouse on a rotating basis as scheduled by the Recorder.
- Professionally greet and assist customers in a helpful and courteous manner whether in-person or through electronic communications.
- Operate computers, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment as needed. Personally responsible for any county office equipment that is used outside of county facilities.
- Preview, record, index and verify documents with limited cancellations or adjustments as assigned by the Recorder.
- Receive or scan all records that come into the office for electronic access and digital preservation.
- Answer phones and return emails as necessary and as assigned by the Recorder.
- Swear in notaries according to state guidelines and office procedures.
- Assist with Lawson billing and ordering as assigned by the Recorder.
- Assist the public with accessing real estate software whether in person or through electronic communications.
- Attend county/office meetings or trainings as required whether in person or through electronic means.
- Assist with clerical and recording duties in the absence of other staff or as needed and assigned by the Recorder or First Deputy.
- Adhere to the Recorder of Deeds vacation/time off policy and accurately track work hours through county approved systems.
- Perform other clerical and office duties as assigned by the Recorder or First Deputy.
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience in an office environment using computers for data entry and retrieval, or any acceptable combination of equivalent training and/or experience
