Commissioner Wheeler is a seasoned Fortune 100 business leader. She has more than 30 years of leadership experience in industrial and medical business sectors. Prior to her role as President Commissioner, she was a General Manager of a Medical Device Business at General Electric (GE). She has extensive experience in strategic planning, business development and operational leadership.
She has experience leading both domestic and global businesses and has lived in Hong Kong and Japan.
Commissioner Wheeler serves on the County Commissioner’s Association of Pennsylvania Executive Board and is a member of the National Association of Counties Technology & Telecommunications Committee. Julie has helped York County have a seat at the table with large policy-based organizations that dictate county government both state and federally.
Commissioner Wheeler was born and raised in York County, graduating from Dallastown High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. She holds a patent for silicone adhesive technology. She and her husband, Michael, are supporters of the York Revolution, the Appell Center for Performing Arts, and York History Center.
