Board of Assessment Appeal Training (as required by Act 155 of 2018)

This training program for all board of assessment appeal/revision, exemption and auxiliary board members will satisfy the requirements of Act 155 of 2018 which requires all members of these boards to complete training to continue to hear county property tax assessment appeals.

  • Training is being offered as live in-person workshops and on a web-based platform, Go To Webinar, in April 2020 to all current board of assessment appeal/revision members, exemption and auxiliary board members.
  • Beginning in May 2020, all board members will also have the option to take the training online on demand through CCAP’s remote learning platform.
  • All individuals who serve on a board as of January 1, 2020 must complete their respective training modules by June 30, 2020.
  • Anyone appointed to a board after January 1, 2020 will have six months from the time of their appointment to complete the training.
 

 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 


  • Online Registration
    Registration is required for both the live and webinar training modules being held in April 2020. You will receive a confirmation upon completion of registration. For webinar training, you will also receive a link to the webinar and materials closer to the class date(s). Separate registration for the on demand modules through the online learning platform will be available in May 2020.

 

Cost: Each of the three training modules, for both the live and webinar training, is $10 per module. Only check payments will be accepted. Please send a copy of your class confirmation along with your check made payable to CCAP to “BOAA Training”, PO Box 60769, Harrisburg, PA 17106.

 

Board Members: We encourage board members taking the webinar training to watch the training along with the county’s chief assessor or someone from the county assessment office. Each board member will need to be registered individually. If your county is planning to have multiple board members take the webinar together, please have the county chief assessor register everyone online for the webinar. After the training module(s) has/have been completed and verified by the county assessment office, certificates of completion will be sent to the assessment office.
