Everywhere you look today companies are hiring. There are even some industries that are changing their hours or closing on certain days due to staff shortages. Counties don't have that "luxury". The job must be done regardless of the staff available to do it. This page will serve as a resource for counties to explore and learn new ways to recruit and retain employees. ​​​​

CCAP has created a webinar series that will be held each week on Wednesday beginning at noon. The series will start on September 1 and run through October 13. Registration and detailed information for each webinar can be found below.

Session three – It’s more than just money

Benefits that can be marketed that make county employment attractive when money is not competitive. Health and other affinity programs for staff, show them they are valued. Include generational issues and needs.

Session four – Investing in your staff

Using education support as a recruitment tool, creating career ladders where possible. Developing effective models of succession planning, internships, etc.

Session five – Examining and eliminating barriers to county employment

Prior criminal record forgiveness, recruiting from former clients of programs. Civil service and merit hire, etc.
