County Executive Phillips Armstrong says the county has come a long way in helping residents with drug addiction. He says county judges Edward Reibman and Douglas Reichley have been researching the idea of a drug court for the past year. See more below.

When faced with a global pandemic, the higher ups in the Washington County Probation office kept their cool. They weren't going to let the COVID-19 virus and subsequent guidelines stop them from maintaining law and order in Washington County and the last thing they wanted was for the 4,000 plus offenders in the county to go unsupervised. Probation Department Office Manager Michelle Wertman and her sister have been making masks and selling them. It started out as making masks for family members but expanded to friends and co-workers, and their family and friends. Eventually, this turned into a way of helping Probation Department clients.
