WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
All too often, employees are promoted to the role of supervisor because of their strong technical or clinical expertise. However, an effective supervisory relationship requires that the supervisor not only be a content expert, but that they also accept the enormous responsibility of mentorship. As research clearly demonstrates, it is not only in the best interest of the employee, but also the employer to pay close attention to the supervisor/supervisee relationship. This relationship is critical to the success of the individual, as well as the organization. What the research tells us is that it is no longer acceptable for supervisors to blame everyone else for employee failure and/or turnover. A majority of the reason employees are unhappy, dissatisfi ed or leave, is obviously controllable by their supervisor.
Applying the concepts of Servant Leadership to supervision, Rising Sun Consultants has developed an applied set of strategies to effectively supervise employees. This set of strategies is referred to as “The 10 Keys to Effective Supervision™.”
